Karen Valerie Watne (1953 – 2019)
Her Legacy… Karen Valerie Watne, 65, passed away November 9, 2019. She was born on December 8, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan to Vernie and Opal (Twingley) Watne. She will be remembered as a tremendous chef that worked at such locations as Two Black Sheep and Evans Street Restaurants. Karen was very strong willed and fought right up to the end. She enjoyed camping, music and raising her two young boys. Karen will be missed by all who and loved her.
Her Family… Karen will be missed by her two boys, Ben (Susan) Woodard, Jon Woodard; siblings, Murlin Watne, Jane (Denny) Alickson, Tim (LouAnn) Preston, Bob (Pam) Preston, and Barb (Steve) Cook; grandchildren, Jonathan, Cole and Kade Woodard; nine nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by friend and ex-husband Stanley Woodard; parents; and sister-in-law, Pat Watne.
Her Farewell… Karen’s family and friends will gather Tuesday, November 12, 2019, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Manchester Chapel, with her Community Farewell following at 1:00 pm.
